The present Privacy Protocol outlines the methods adopted by Blogbamba Inc. (also referred to as "Blogbamba," "us," or "our") for collecting, processing, and disseminating your personal information. This Privacy Protocol applies when you visit our websites, utilize our mobile applications, or use any other online products and services that link back to this Privacy Protocol (collectively referred to as "our Services"), interact with our customer support, connect with us via social media, or engage with us in any capacity.

This Privacy Protocol may undergo modifications periodically. In the event of such alterations, we commit to notify you by revising the date at the beginning of the Protocol and, when deemed necessary, we may deliver additional alerts (such as posting an announcement on our website or sending you a notification). We recommend regular reviews of this Privacy Protocol to stay updated about our data handling practices and your options.

DATA ACQUISITION

Data You Furnish Us With

We accumulate data that you voluntarily provide. For example, when you set up an account, fill out a form, upload or post content through our Services, subscribe to a membership, interact with us on third-party platforms, request customer assistance, or correspond with us in any capacity. Personal information we may collect encompasses your name, display name, username, bio, email address, professional details, content including your avatar image, photos, posts, comments, and series published by you, along with any additional information you opt to provide.

In certain scenarios, we may gather data you furnish about others, like when you purchase a Blogbamba membership as a gift. We will use this information to fulfill your request and abstain from sending unrelated communications to your contacts, unless they separately agree to receive communications from us or interact with us.

We do not amass payment information through our Services. We rely on third-party providers for processing payments pertinent to our Services. The data you provide to facilitate such a payment is subject to the privacy policy of the third-party payment processor. We advise you to review this policy before sharing any data with the payment processor.

Data We Collect Automatically When You Engage with Us

In certain situations, we automatically gather specific data, including:

  • Interaction Data: We compile data about your activity on our Services, such as your reading history and when you share links, follow users, highlight posts, and applaud posts.
  • Transaction Data: Upon the purchase of a membership, we gather information about the transaction, such as subscription details, the price paid, and the transaction date.
  • Device and Usage Data: We accumulate data regarding your use of our Services, encompassing details about your device and network, like your hardware model, operating system version, mobile network, IP address, unique device identifiers, browser type, and app version. We also collect information about your activity on our Services, such as access times, pages viewed, links clicked, and the page you visited before coming to our Services.
  • Data Collected by Cookies and Similar Tracking Technologies: We employ tracking technologies like cookies and web beacons to collect data about you. Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive or in device memory that aid us in enhancing our Services and your experience, identifying popular areas and features of our Services, and tracking visits. Web beacons (also referred to as "pixel tags" or "clear GIFs") are electronic images that we use on our Services and in our emails to facilitate cookies, track visits, and understand usage. We also collaborate with third-party analytics providers who use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and other technologies to collect data about your use of our Services and other websites and applications, including your IP address, web browser, mobile network information, pages viewed, time spent on pages or in mobile apps, and links clicked. This data may be used by Blogbamba and others to analyze and track data, measure the popularity of certain content, deliver content aligned with your interests on our Services, and better comprehend your online activity.
Data Sourced from Other Platforms

We acquire information from third-party resources. This could include data about you from social media platforms, accounting service providers, and data analytics providers. Furthermore, if you set up or sign in to your Blogbamba account through a third-party platform (such as Apple, Facebook, Google, or Twitter), we may access specific information from that platform, like your name, list of friends or followers, birthday, and profile picture, adhering to the authorization process outlined by that platform.

Inferred Information

We might generate information or assumptions about you based on the data we collect. For example, your geographical location might be inferred from your IP address or reading preferences deduced from your reading history.

UTILIZATION OF DATA

The collected information is utilized to deliver, manage, and improve our Services, including the distribution of user-generated content, customization of the posts you view, and maintaining our paywall. We also use the data we collect to:

  • Set up and maintain your Blogbamba account;
  • Handle transactions and share related details, such as confirmations, receipts, and user experience surveys;
  • Dispatch technical notices, security alerts, and support and administrative messages;
  • Address your queries and provide customer support;
  • Communicate about new content, products, services, and features by Blogbamba and share other news that we think may interest you (see Your Choices section below for details on opting out of these communications);
  • Study and understand trends, usage, and activities linked to our Services;
  • Identify, probe, and deter security incidents and other harmful, deceptive, fraudulent, or illegal activities, and safeguard Blogbamba's and others' rights and property;
  • Identify and rectify errors in our Services;
  • Meet our legal and financial obligations; and
  • Perform any other purpose described to you at the time the information was collected.
DATA SHARING

Here are instances when we share your personal data, as described in this policy:

  • Your personal data is made accessible to other users of our platform. For instance, if you post content, comment, or send private messages via our services, certain information like your name, image, bio, account-related information, and details about your activities (like your followers, people you follow, recent posts, claps, highlights, responses, etc.) will be visible to other users.
  • Your personal data is shared with vendors, consultants, and service providers who require this data to perform services for us. This includes companies that assist us with web hosting, storage, infrastructure, analytics, payment processing, fraud prevention, security, customer service, communications, and marketing.
  • In certain circumstances, we might disclose your personal data if it aligns with or is mandated by any applicable law or legal process, including national security or law enforcement requests by public authorities. We will inform you of any legal process requiring disclosure of your data unless legally prohibited or if we believe it may pose a risk to others or lead to illegal activities. We will resist legal requests for user information that we deem inappropriate.
  • We may disclose your personal data if we believe your actions are inconsistent with our user agreements or policies, if we believe you have violated the law, or if we deem it necessary to protect the rights, property, and safety of Blogbamba, our users, the public, or others.
  • Your personal data is shared with our legal team and professional advisors as necessary to seek advice or to manage and safeguard our business interests.
  • In relation to any merger, asset sale, financing, or acquisition of all or a part of our business by another company, your personal data may be shared or during the negotiation of the same.
  • Personal data is shared among Blogbamba and our existing and future parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, and other companies under shared control and ownership.
  • With your consent or at your direction, we may share your personal data.
  • We also share aggregated or de-identified data that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.
CONTENT HOSTING BY THIRD PARTIES

Blogbamba does not host all the content displayed through our services. Users can post content hosted by a third party but embedded on our pages (an "Embed"). Interactions with an Embed can relay information about your interaction to the third party hosting the Embed, similar to directly visiting the third party's site. For instance, when you view a YouTube video embedded in a Blogbamba post, YouTube receives data about your activity, such as your IP address and the extent of the video you watch. We do not control the data third parties collect via Embeds or what they do with this information. This Privacy Policy does not apply to information collected via Embeds. The privacy policy of the third party hosting the Embed applies to any data the Embed collects, and we advise you to review that policy before interacting with the Embed.

DATA TRANSFER ACROSS BORDERS

Blogbamba's main operations are based in the United States, and our services and operational providers are located in the United States and other countries. This means that we and our service providers might transmit your personal data to, or access it in, regions that may not provide the same level of data protection as your home jurisdiction. We move personal data to Amazon Web Services, one of our service providers that manage personal data for us across various data center locations globally. We pledge to implement measures to ensure that your personal data gets sufficient protection in the jurisdictions where we process it.
